Bitrix CMS Features
The Bitrix Site Manager Active Directory/LDAP Connector module simplifies the integration of the CMS into corporate portals. The LDAP module is aimed at integrating Bitrix Site Manager into a corporate network while facilitating the centralized management of user groups within your corporate information system.
The Bitrix Site Manager AD/LDAP Module Will Enable You To:
Centrally manage all user profiles via your corporate server.
- Integrate the Bitrix CMS into your corporate network.
- Map your corporate network’s user groups to your website’s user groups.
- Automatically create user profiles upon successful registration using the Assignment Table. (The system creates the profile using data requested from the corporate server database);
The Bitrix Site Manager AD/LDAP module was designed with standard LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and AD (Active Directory) in mind.
Rules are specified in a special Assignment Table in the site admin section. Assignment permits site user groups and corporate network user groups to have different names. For instance, your Tech-support corporate network user group can be mapped to your site’s Tech-support user group. Having made this assignment, allows the corporate network tech-support team to consult on the site.
Corporate user groups can be given permission to access corporate network resources. Likewise, site user groups can be given permission to access site resources. For instance, corporate Tech-support group members will be able to access your corporate mail server …while the site Tech-support group users will be able to access your website’s Helpdesk module.
Meaning that …cooperate Tech-support users will be added to your site’s Tech-support user group—following the successful authorization on your website—automatically. After which, the system will automatically creates (or re-creates) the user account stored on your corporate server.
Users can be assigned to one or more groups. Your system will be able to contain user groups that haven’t mapped to corporate network groups. Your administrator will have to manually add users to such groups. Changes made to users profile on the corporate server will automatically be transferred to the global CMS profile at the time of authorization. In which case, only user groups mapped to corporate network groups will be updated.
