The Bitrix Site Manager’s Site Explorer module is an integrated solution that will allow you to view and edit static website content. However, effective content management isn’t just a matter of having a powerful visual HTML editor at your fingertips. You’ll also need to have the power to:

  • Manage your website’s structure (move, copy, delete or create files and sections).
  • Access frequent operations quickly—from via the site control toolbar.
  • Use the visual HTML editor to create and edit site pages.
  • Assign inheritable files and sections access permissions to user groups.
  • Create and manage your site’s menu (add, edit or delete menu items; add new types of menus).
  • Design and manage a navigation chain.
  • Highlight and edit include areas.
  • Check spelling and grammar with the visual editor.
  • Upload files and images from a local machine.
  • Optimize your site for search engines.
  • Define keywords for advertising targeting.

Managing Site Structure via the Site Explorer Module

In the Site Explorer module’s Control Panel, your site’s structure will be rendered as a file manager with folders and files.

You’ll be able to edit current pages, create new sections or edit menus via the Control Panel’s web interface or from by using the site control toolbar commands.

You’ll be able to start editing information directly by using the toolbar commands.

The Site Explorer Module’s control toolbar is invisible to and cannot be accessed by common visitors. Only an authorized visitor having sufficient permissions can use it. Certain buttons may be disabled or removed from the toolbar if a user does not have enough permission for operations that these buttons perform. Administrators can customize the control toolbar by adding buttons facilitating editing site content. For instance, you might want to add a button to edit news or product description etc.

Configuring permissions lets you to regulate user groups' access to files and catalogs of a site. The following permissions can be assigned to user groups:
